​​​​Richard Brain is a Conductor and Workshop leader whose extensive portfolio includes Director of Chapel Music at The Peterborough School, Director of Music of Christ Church Southgate, and Musical Director of Barnet Choral Society and Bishop's Stortford Choral Society. Richard directs hundreds of singers every week, exploring music from Renaissance polyphony and madrigals, through the great Baroque and Classical oratorios, to works for children's choirs and modern commissioned works.

He studied Choral Conducting on the renowned MA Course at the Royal Academy of Music where he was awarded the Irene Burcher Prize in 2013. Previously a singer, Richard was a Choral Scholar in Gloucester and then Exeter Cathedral Choirs, before singing as a Lay Clerk in St Albans Cathedral.

Richard directing the Choir of Christ Church Southgate in a performance of John Garnder's Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancign Day. This performance was selected as the joint-runner up for the OUP 2017 Advent Carol Competition, making it the top liturgical choir entrant in the UK.
